Angelica’s role as VOGUE China Editor-in-Chief makes her the style doyenne to over a billion people. Since its inception in 2005, with news stands selling out of the first issue within days, Angelica has brought the magazine to unprecedented levels of success, making her a global fashion luminary. Typified by her signature glossy, angular black bob, Angelica’s personal style is all clean lines and – a woman after my own heart – fabulous accessories, her favourite being the bold statement necklace. Alongside heading the fashion bible of China, Angelica is also proud mother to her own little fashionista in the making, Hayley.
Angelica is my muse this month…

KOTUR: Do you have a beauty secret?
Angelica: Never to worry too much about it…

KOTUR: What do you wear on a fat day?
Angelica: I don’t have any fat days – or maybe all days are fat ones to me?

KOTUR: What’s the most treasured item in your wardrobe?
Angelica: A red dress my mother made for me when I was a teenager. I haven’t worn it in over 20 years, but I will always keep it.

KOTUR: What do you wear to bed?
Angelica: T-shirt and pajamas.

KOTUR: What is your most recent purchase?
Angelica: Necklaces from Lanvin and Marni.

KOTUR: What’s your greatest extravagance?
Angelica: Spending time with my family.

KOTUR: What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Angelica: Never to give up easily.

KOTUR: What’s your favorite smell?
Angelica: My daughter Hayley after her bath.

KOTUR: What’s your idea of a great holiday?
Angelica: Anywhere with my husband, daughter and my best friend’s family, with phones and computers firmly switched off.

KOTUR: What are you most proud of?
Angelica: My daughter, Hayley.

KOTUR: What are you least proud of?
Angelica: My quick temper.

KOTUR: Who or what would you like to be reincarnated as in your next life?
Angelica: Still Hayley’s mother.

KOTUR: What would you eat for your last supper?
Angelica: I think that would be the least of my worries!

KOTUR: Yes or no to a nip and a tuck?
Angelica: No.

KOTUR: How old is too old for a mini?
Angelica: I think it depends on the person, but for most, somewhere around 35.

KOTUR: How would you like to be remembered?
Angelica: I’ve never thought about it. Life is about the moment, and not about worrying what happens afterwards.

KOTUR: What part of your body would you like to change?
Angelica: Does getting a softer voice count?

KOTUR: What quality do you most admire in a person?
Angelica: A person is never about a single quality, it’s the mixture of many things that decide if they deserve my admiration or not.

KOTUR: If you could live in any other time for its fashion, what would you choose?
Angelica: The Sixties – in London, not China!

KOTUR: Is there anything in your wardrobe you should get rid of but can’t?
Angelica: Super high heels – I really should clear them out now.
