As the world gets increasingly excited about Baz Luhrman’s new Great Gatsby, we at Kotur have also been struck down with Gatsby Fever. Designed as part of our yet to be launched Fall 2013 season is a mini collection of Deco Darlings, clutches designed with the spirit of that incredibly glamorous age in mind and that seem just perfect for now. Each handcrafted in shell and mirror, they’re architecturally inspired, with graphic lines and luxurious linings and finishes and we cannot wait to get wearing them.

Should you not be able to wait either, we are offering these limited edition styles available for preorder here. And should you want to work them into your general Gatsby look, well, we’ve been having a think about that, too. This week’s Three Ways to Wear focuses on how to get that Gatsby look in a manner that’s right for now. Not too fancy dress but still dripping in glamour, not too pastiche but still speaking of the time, here are three outfits we think would be just about how Daisy would do it now.

1. Glamorous Gowns: For real Gatsby glamour, you can’t go wrong with a gown – designers know that, it’s why season after season they mine the deco decade for inspiration when it comes to real eveningwear. Stay the right side of chic with muted colours, embellishment and some seriously knockout accessories (darker, for a bit of a twist.) Pictures: Catwalk Naeem Khan, SS13. Long sleeve embellished nude dress by Marchesa and metallic Vionnet dress both from www.net-a-porter.com, grey chiffon Laurel  dress, nude short sleeved Balanchine dress and white deco beaded dress all from www.temperleylondon.com, Aquazzura Martini shoes and Susan Foster diamond and onyx earrings both from www.matchesfashion.com, and Kotur Rockefeller Minaudière available for preorder here.

2. The Sequinned Flapper Dress: As Kate Moss knows, nothing gives deco a touch of the disco better than a sequinned mini dress. Shown modelling her own design for Topshop, the supermodel ably demonstrates how to do Deco for a modern girl’s cocktail look. Pictures: Catwalk, Kate Moss in Topshop, black flapper style dress and silver beaded Limited Edition dress both from www.topshop.com, feathered midnight blue dress by Matthew Williamson, shoes by Jimmy Choo, Vintage bracelet by Susan Caplan at www.johnlewis.com, Earrings from Kenneth Jay Lane at www.net-a-porter.com and Kotur Chrysler clutch available for preorder here.

3. The Modern Touch: For those keen to touch on the trend without coming over too literal, take your cue from Derek Lam, pairing Deco-esque separates with clean, sleek tops and a touch of period jewellery to finish off the look. Catwalk: Derek Lam SS13, black feather skirt by Milly, pale green Rochas silk skirt, white sequinned J Crew skirt, Kenneth Jay Lane earrings and pearls, Oscar de la Renta shoes, Chloe embellished camisole and Tibi simple silk cami all from www.net-a-porter.com, Kotur Sullivan clutch available for preorder here.
