Should you fancy knocking up fashion’s most illustrious salad this summer,  luck is in hand. Bergdorf Goodman have just published their cookbook this week, a collection of 100 recipes from their famous 7th floor Café with the addition of some starring turns by recipes loved by the fashion set. Whilst pole position must surely go to Bergdorf’s own legendary Gotham Salad – introduced to the menu over 30 years ago, this chopped dish of beets, eggs, beans, bacon and chicken is still ordered more than 2,500 times a month – you will also find the café’s signature crabcakes with spicy remoulade, truffle cheese bites, Lobster Napoleon and chocolate tart. And then everyone from Diane von Furstenberg with her crab and quinoa dish to Thakoon Panichgul with his fish steamed in banana leaves, Cathy Horyn and her ginger cookies to New York Times Editor Deborah Needleman and her lemon pasta all take a turn too. Throw in lovely illustrations by Konstantin Kakanias and you have a new staple for the kitchen reference shelf.
