James Turrell, the California born artist whose exploration of colour has always been arresting, has a major new show on at the Guggenheim and we for one cannot wait to see it. In his first presentation in a New York museum since 1980, it stars a new original piece, Aten Reign. Designed to provoke the viewer into completely reimagining the atrium of Frank Lloyd Wright’s building, it’s series of projections play with space, shifting saturated colours and natural light to present the Museum – quite literally – in a whole new light. Described as hypnotic, reflective and completely immersive, we highly recommend you go and see it.

James Turrell is on at the Guggenheim Museum until September 25th 2013
