Fiona Kotur creates art-deco inspired clutches that were spotted on red carpet and street style heroes.  The globe-trotting designer is also an expert in mix-and-matching accessories.  She names her designs after her muses, often a friend or model.

Q&A

1. What do you like about a cruise holiday?

Going on a cruise for holiday is great.  Clothes and accessories you wear are bursting with colours, full of interesting fabrics and textures and designed with sunny times in mind – what’s not to like about it?

2. Tell us about your favorite holiday destination.

Growing up, we always spent our summers in Norfolk, Connecticut.  It’s a classic slice or rural  New England.  Our favorite activities are picnics and fishing.  Every year when I take my sons back there I feel like as if I’m reliving my own childhood memories all over again.

3. What do you usually pack for vacation?

With four sons to round up, I have to keep my own packing quite minimal.  A cover-up, one of our raffia clutches and a beach-friendly necklace always find their way into my suitcase.

4. Name the must-have item from your holiday collection.

Our Espey bag is a holiday must-have.  It’s so versatile – works as a day clutch as well as for night.  This season we’ve done it in Sky Blue and Berry, both hues inspired by sunny days and would look great worn on holiday.

5. Do you find inspirations from your holidays?

We did a very floral collection this year, which was inspired by gardens all over the world.  I was also particularly inspired by Palm Beach and Miami for their own particular kind of retro glamour that was all about 1950′s style swimsuits, poolside cocktails and palm trees. Our sequinned Bonnets are designed with just such a sensibility in mind
