This week in Shanghai, starlets and bright young things joined Vogue China’s Editor-in-Chief, and our KOTUR MUSE Angelica Cheung, in celebrating the magazine’s 10th year anniversary. We were delighted to have made our way into the party and on the arms of actresses Xulu, Lin Peng, and supermodels Jing Wen, Emma Pei, Sayo Akasaka and Sasha Pivovarova.

Last Wednesday, I was thrilled to join my dear friend, Tory Burch, in Shanghai for the celebration of her new flagship store opening.

The dinner that followed the store event was the most surreal and glamorous interpretation of “New York to Shanghai” imaginable, as elements from Tory’s apartment and Southampton NY house were recreated on the roof of Shanghai’s Peninsula Hotel. The large windows overlooked spectacular Manhattan views of Central Park, and dinner was catered by Fat Radish with a performance by Lil Buck. Best of all New York imports were the other friends who flew in to celebrate with Tory, and to toast the best of both worlds.

The World of KOTUR: Shanghai’s Debutante Debut

Held in the stunning setting of the historic former Shanghai Club at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel on Shanghai’s Bund, the event was co-sponsored by KOTUR and my friend, the fabulous image consultant, Kim Robinson. I donned my Roland Mouret and piled on my Gem Palace indian vintage jewels to join the brightest and best of Chinese high society at the debut Shanghai debutante ball this January.

Chaired by Vivian Chow, the event was co-ordinated by the formidable committee members from the London season who swept into China with a selection of international and local young ladies to debut. All the debutantes looked stunning – and all carried KOTUR, of course.
