Cita Tenun works to preserve and encourage the development of indigenous textile weaving techniques found in regions across the country. Working directly with womens groups, Cita Tenun gathers their extraordinary works together and sells them as a collective – ensuring a fair price for producers and giving these amazing weavers access to a global market. At Kotur we were particularly taken by their Endek fabric, a traditional Balinese product associated once upon a time with Princes and aristocracy. Still woven in the hills of the island, it is a woven ikat that makes for standout bags – and has a wonderful sense of craft about it. Following the Moulin Rouge-esque opening soiree for the fabulous new Louboutin store in Hong Kong’s Harbour City mall, I was honored to be invited to a late-night private supper with the maestro himself last week.

Seated alongside the charmingly elegant Marie-Chantal and her dashing husband, Prince Pavlos of Greece, I was delighted to find that the children’s wear mogul and mother of five has been a collector of KOTUR for many seasons.

Supper itself was a sumptuous modern chinese feast at the exclusive KEE club, which followed a risque performance from the renowned ‘Loubi’s Angels’ – clad in catsuits and a thigh-high kaleidoscope of Louboutin’s own stiletto boots. Ooh la la!
