Lucky enough to be worn by wonderful women all over the world, we are always thrilled when someone chooses Kotur. This weekend past, we were fortunate enough to spot not one, not two but three Supermodel style icons sporting some of our very best pieces with just the sort of panache that only a Super knows how to work.

China Machado, once dubbed ‘probably the most beautiful woman in the world,’ by none other than Richard Avedon, was one of the original supermodels. Born in Shanghai in 1930, she found herself via a stint as a Pan Am air hostess as a model for the likes of Monsieurs Dior, Balenciaga and Givenchy, soon becoming a regular both in magazines and on the circuit at the time. She has partied with Picasso and Warhol, hung out with Bailey, lost a boyfriend to Ava Gardner. Today, she still makes appearances as a model, loved for her unique look and standout personality – as demonstrated here by her enthusiasm for our Aquaglobe!

Gisele Bundchen, shot here for the July issue of Italian Vogue reigns at the top of current supers. And Christy Turlington, long a woman we have admired for her work both in and outside modelling, is enjoying a renaissance, back as the face of Calvin Klein, the house that first propelled her ot fame in the 1990s. Proof that a Super’s style never ages, indeed.

As the witching hour approaches and the great and the good of the fashion industry set their minds to one of their most important tasks of the year (What does one wear to the Met Gala…? Obviously…) we couldn’t help but think of what kind of look we would go for this time round. Would it be Saint Laurent inspired sultry (ever so fitting for this year’s Punk theme,) would it be fashion forward (all the better for pleasing that particularly tough crowd,) or would it be Gala staple pretty, ball gowns from De La Renta et al that are designed for big fashion moments such as these. Here are the three options laid out for you to choose from. Met Gala Glamour – which way would you work it?

So fitting for Spring, Lace is a fabric that’s does both fashionability and femininity all at once. Designers know that …

So fitting for Spring, Lace is a fabric that’s does both fashionability and femininity all at once. Designers know that better than anyone, that’s why we’ve all gone long on it for this season, updating previous lace silhouettes and items with a freshness that makes them particularly 2013. Key to working the trend for now are certain items and colours. Lace separates are particularly hot right now (and much easier to wear than a top to toe look,) minimal takes on the trend are the way to go for those who take their pretty without too much touch of the fuss, or lace dresses in strong colours give the full on look for those ready really take the plunge into what is arguably spring’s prettiest look. Here are three ways we’ll be working it.

1. Minimal Lace:

Think lace and you don’t have to think over the top. As seen at Ports 1961, loose shapes and simple lace details give enough of the look without submitting to the full on effect. Giambatista Vialli’s knockout cocktail dress is the super sophisticated take on the look, or try Miu Miu and Carven for dresses that nod to the theme without being too fussy. Finish off with simple, clean accessories and you’re set. Pictures: Catwalk, Ports 1961 SS13, Miu Miu pink dress, Carven white dress, and Monica Vinader earrings all from www.net-a-porter.com, white python heels from Christian Louboutin, Giambatista Valli red embellished dress from www.matchesfashion.com, Margo in snake by Kotur available here.

2. Special Separates:

As seen at Temperley, for those nervous of the overall lace effect, this Spring’s tops prove the perfect way to dip a toe into the trend. For the purist approach, Rebecca Taylor and Stella McCartney’s simple white numbers will go with just about anything, colour pops come courtesy of Jason Wu’s pink lace T shirt (great to wear with skinny trousers,) or try Erdem’s black lace number (all the better paired with a pencil skirt) for a slice of serious evening chic. Pictures: Catwalk: Temperley SS13, White lace T shirt by Rebecca Taylor, Rochas silk skirt, Jason Wu pink top and Stella McCartney lace top all from www.net-a-porter.com, Rossantica earrings, Erdem black lace top and MaxMara shoes all from www.matchesfashion.com, white tuxedo pencil skirt from www.jcrew.com and Kotur lace Margo available here.

3. The Little Lace Dress (LLD):

As shown so perfectly at Valentino (masters of lace, in general) lace dresses for spring come in unusual colours and simple shapes to give a more modern take on this super pretty basic. Pair yours with evening friendly accessories and you’ll have an item that will take you from cocktail parties to weddings, dances to discos, all summer long. Pictures: Catwalk, Valentino SS13, green lace dress by Burberry, red halterneck and cobalt blue lace mini dress by Lover from www.net-a-porter.com, coral lace dress by Issa and Aquazzura shoes from www.matchesfashion.com, earrings by Eddie Borgo and Kotur Espey in black snakeskin availably here.

It was Carine Roitfeld who once declared that ‘the snake is more chic than the leopard.’ This season, designers appeared to have taken heed – sending snakeskin in myriad forms shimmering down the catwalks. At first, it’s a trend that looks tricky. Too shiny, too strict, too same thing all over, one could think. But taken the modern way (that’s mixed with clashing prints, dressed down with jeans, paired with pastels,) it’s gives a great spring look that’s sophisticated yet easy, all at the same time.

Click through our gallery above for the following three ways to wear the look.

Top to toe: As shown ably at Gucci, (and in the words of Mae West) too much of a good thing can be wonderful. Simple snake printed shifts worn with dainty jewels and pretty pumps do for smart day or night dressing. (Image: Gucci SS13, dress and necklace by Gucci at www.net-a-porter.com, shoes Lucy Choi London at www.matchesfashion.com, bag Snakeskin Margo by Kotur here.)

Printed Pencils: London duo Preen by Thornton Bregazzi are great at clothes with a bit of attitude – as their snakeskin pencil skirt shows. Keep the look easy and chic with a pair of nude pumps, relaxed top and easy jewels. (Image: Preen SS13, skirt, Preen at www.matchesfashion.com, ankle cuff pumps at www.jcrew.com, cuff from Monica Vinader at www.net-a-porter.com, T shirt by LNA at www.shopbop.com, Espey clutch by Kotur here.)

Dressed down with denim: Make like Miranda Kerr, mixing a printed snakeskin blouse with simple skinny jeans and chic accessories for an easy, everyday look. (Image: www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com, blouse by Equipment at www.matchesfashion.com, jeans from MIH at www.net-a-porter.com, Everly red pumps from www.jcrew.com, bangles from www.ippolita.com, Boulet clutch from Kotur.)

In homage to Paris Fashion week, a favourite haunt of Kotur’s and highlight of our season in so many ways, this week’s Three ways to Wear focuses on working a bit of French chic. Be they working some serious high fashion or a boyfriend style tee, the latest runway look or a timeless classic, be they prim and polished or perfectly dishevelled, there’s something about the way these ladies dress that oozes chic every time.

We’re so excited about our upcoming Spring collection, we couldn’t help but share a few of our very favorite pieces with you. Designed around different garden themes (a Savage Garden, Pop Garden, Retro Garden, Secret Garden and Cyber Garden all gave inspiration for bags from the au naturel to the glitzy and glamorous,) it’s a season full of wonders we can’t wait to reveal.

For the ultimate in pastel blocking (thank you, Kerry Washington, for your lesson in how, ably given at the NAACP Awards last week,) our Espey’s now come in a rainbow of pastels guaranteed to give an instant breath of fresh air to any evening look. Lilacs, pale pinks and sea greens are already proving hits on the red carpet – any minute now, they can take a star turn in your wardrobes too.

Sequinned JB Renna Bonets and Marguerite Espeys inspired by old fashioned lady’s swimming caps give a brilliant retro take on evening clutches, with our feathered Fino already proving a firm favorite (thank you, Dakota Fanning,) when it comes to making a statement.

Fans of the neon trend need look no further than our new Margos. Lace and neon brocades give a modern spin on this Kotur classic and a perfect pop of colour for any LBD. From our Cyber Garden grows an Aquaglobe – the latest addition to our perspex family, and a guaranteed talking point. And, for those who prefer things a little more natural, the Savage Garden’s raffia and snakeskin numbers, plus our Morleys in wonderful West African Batik prints should prove perfect for working the au naturel look so prevalent right now.

These are bags designed to lift both the spirits and your wardrobes. Please click through our gallery of images to see the highlights of what’s coming up this season.

Three ways to… Style up our sale items for your new Spring wardrobe. Click through our gallery for three outfits that will help you skip through to Spring.

1. Pair our classic Espey in burnt sequin with a loose silk shirt, distressed jeans, a statement necklace and some killer heels for the French Vogue take on dressing up.

2. Inspired by Hedi Slimane’s new work at Saint Laurent, take your cue from Helmut Newton’s classic image of Le Smoking and try a tux. J Crew’s white number is the perfect backdrop for a bright Morley snakeskin clutch. Finish with some simple Pigalle pumps and Lara Bohinc earrings and your evenings just took a major upswing.

3. And finally, if Spring’s sporty trend is seeming a little far fetched, M Missoni’s green dress, worn with our Marcil clutch, Aurélie Bidermann’s ‘Cités d’Or‘ cuff and a pair of McQ by McQueen’s pointy flats touches on the theme without plunging you into sportswear.
