Yolanda’s advice for brides, “Chose a look that will be timeless and will live beyond the day… Remember that your wedding photo will be in your family’s home for years to come!”

When it comes to the topic of wedding style, we knew exactly with whom to consult: fashion veteran and dear friend, Yolanda Choy Tang. California beauty, former Fendi and Dior marketing exec, and current partner of Central Weddings and Vera Wang boutiques in Hong Kong. Yolanda is the ultimate authority, herself named by Harper’s Bazaar as “Most Stylish Woman”.  Yolanda graciously shares her musings and top favorite ideas about ‘the dress’.

She’s Got Flair
Fit and flare gowns are very flattering and modern as they are lengthening. I love this gown by Marchesa because of the details in the bodice and the use of silk and tulle.

Short & Sweet
A bridal gown doesn’t always have to be long and dramatic. Short gowns are equally stunning and are great for destination weddings especially those at a resort.

Take Cover
If you are getting married in a church, why not channel a bit of Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton. I love a bit of lace sleeve to cover the shoulders. This season, the designers are creating an assortment of choice.

A Change of a Dress
A detachable tulle skirt can completely change the look of a gown. The tulle gives more drama for the church wedding. For the reception, simply take the tulle skirt off and you have a completely different look which is perfect for the reception.
